"Vergulde Draege" - the "Gilt Dragon" was a Dutch ship carrying 8 chests of silver when she was wrecked slightly north of here in 1656. "Guilderton" was named after her.

Guilderton is a small coastal town just 95 km North of Perth, at the mouth of the Moore River, and is still a secret to many.

“Lan-y-Moore” is a traditional WA beach house approx. 300m from the beach and 1000m from the river. Privately owned, “Lan-y-Moore” is Welsh for “By the Moore”.
